General Info
Monti Tools Inc. is the U.S. subsidiary of the German based Monti Werkzeuge GmbH, specialists in Surface Technologies, manufacturing and marketing the "MBX Bristle Blaster", a tool specializing in surface preparation. The MBX Bristle Blaster easily removes surface contaminants and protective materials on steel surfaces simultaneously preparing the surface to the equivalent of standard grit blast processes. Incorporating a rotating bristle brush with hardened wire bristle tips dynamically tuned to a hand-held power tool, the bristles strike the target surface with kinetic energy removing the contaminant leaving a micro-indentation exposing a fresh textured surface. An easy-to-transport system specializing removal of corrosion, coatings and paints (restoring a surface to near-white/white metal appearance) simultaneously generating an micro-indentation anchor profile of 65-83 microns (on API 5L steel common for petroleum piping) even on seams, a surface ideal for the reapplication of coatings. The tool also generates a compressive residual stress increasing the ability of steel to resist cracking, fatigue and stress corrosion. The MBX Bristle Blasting process is an easy-to-use, economical tool eliminating the assembly/disassembly of time consuming and labor intensive grit-recovery systems. An eco-friendly process not using/generating hazardous waste ideal for well drilling installations, fabrication & repair of naval/marine vessels, bridge refurb & industrial maintenance.
