We tried this place today after a visit to Kohl's. Food was great. Now to be clear - this is NOT Hawaiian luau food. It is what Hawaiian locals eat today. It is served in foam take-away trays. It reminded us of a Hawaiian local favorite (Rainbow Drive-in in Honolulu). I had the BBQ & Katsu Mix with BBQ beef (thin cut grilled), BBQ chicken (thin pounded chicken) and Chicken Katsu (fried thin chicken). All three were excellent (can't decide which is best). My wife had the Mini Meal BBQ chicken. She said she was full after eating half (but she kept eating until it was all gone). Meals came with a dip of Macaroni Salad (Hawaiian style), and white rice. Meats are served over cabbage leaves. If you have every tried L&L Hawaiian or Rainbow Drive in Hawaiian then you know what this is all about. If you want to try out real modern local Hawaiian meals or just eat a great meal then go to this place. Hawi is run by Jason.
