The company is the largest manufacturer of connectors for use in personal computers in Taiwan and a leading manufacturer of connectors and cable assemblies in the world. The company also manufactures enclosures, primarily for desktop PCs and PC servers. Foxconn focuses on offering a full range of connectors and cable assemblies for desktop and notebook PCs and PC peripherals. More than 500 types of connectors are produced and sold under the company's own Foxconn brand name. It has recently branched into manufacturing connectors for communications and consumer products. Foxconn is the first connector manufacturer certified by Intel Corporation to produce the latest ball grid arrays mobile socket for the new generation of the Pentium chip to use in notebook PCs. The company will continue to focus on three major business directions: computers, consumers and communications. Foxconn holds more than 2,000 patents globally.
