An MCH Hospitalist's practice is devoted to the unique needs of hospitalized patients. Working as a team with the primary care and sub-specialty physicians, MCH Hospitalists monitor each patient’s care from admission to discharge, working in close collaboration with the patients other physician(s) to direct treatment during the hospital stay. The MCH Hospitalist will discuss significant findings or events with those physicians upon patients’ discharge and will write all discharge orders along with any new prescriptions needed upon leaving the hospital. Medical Clinic of Houston's board certified physicians specialize in the field of Internal Medicine. 27 physicians specialize in adult primary care focusing both on the patients' general well-being as well as the management of multiple and complicated diseases such as diabetes, heart disease, high blood pressure, and high cholesterol. When indicated, they will collaborate closely with Clinic based sub-specialists in Cardiology, Endocrinology, Gastroenterology, Medical Oncology, Rheumatology, Acute Care Hospitalists, and Radiology as well as other non Clinic specialists, to ensure their patients receives the care they need in a timely manner.
