The Neighborhood Centers provides a range of community-based programs for youths, families and senior citizens. The organization serves more than 200,000 neighbors across a 13-county region in southeast Texas. It is a network of community centers and educational facilities that work in partnership with other nonprofit organizations. The Neighborhood Centers provide several educational divisions that include early childhood development centers, Head Start programs, and elementary and charter schools. The organization offers various asset-based community development programs for youths and adults. It additionally provides several programs for victims of hurricanes, young mothers and day laborers. Founded in 1907, The Neighborhood Centers has a presence in Houston.
