Ashford Primary School, founded in 1971, serves more than 250 students in pre-kindergarten through grade two. The school offers special education and bilingual classes. Its campus includes a library, gymnasium, computer and science laboratories, and music and art rooms. The school provides instruction in art, physical education and technology. Ashford Primary School also offers gifted and talented programs. The school provides classes in science, social studies, math and language arts. It has a parent-teacher organization that sponsors fundraising events and book fairs. The school offers participation in spelling bee and essay contests, as well as organizes field trips. In addition, it provides lunch, guidance counseling and health care services. Ashford Primary School is a part of the Houston Independent School District.
