Our agency provides many forms of assistance to families and individuals in need. The food programs include USDA Commodity distribution for individuals and families that meet financial guidelines, a Senior Box program that helps individuals age 60+, a Weekend School Food program for food insecure children, and an Emergency Food program that helps the homeless, domestic violence victims, and in cases of disaster relief. We are a member agency of Ozarks Food Harvest, the food bank for Southern Missouri. The Emergency Assistance program helps individuals and families that are literally or chronically homeless with rent, deposits, and utility assistance to prevent eviction/homelessness of at risk persons. Our agency serves as the Salvation Army Service Unit for Texas County, Missouri and coordinates the annual Red Kettle Campaign to raise funds for food, shelter, clothing, transportation, prescription assistance and other necessities. We also operate a Thrift Store, open to the public, which is dependent on community donations. The Thrift Store provides funding for operating expenses, but also serves as a source for homeless or disaster victims to receive clothing, household goods, furniture, and personal hygiene items.
