The Hopewell Bureau of Police is a law enforcement agency that focuses attention on the prevention of crime, fear of crime, roadway safety and the overall improvement in the quality of life. It has a staff of more than 50 sworn officers, animal control officers, dispatchers, school crossing guards and over 10 civilian employees. The department responds to emergency calls, accidents, and other police-related matters. The Hopewell Bureau of Police offers various bike patrol, case investigation, gun registration, crime prevention and emergency readiness services to the residents. The bureau also offers community services that include bicycle licensing, child fingerprinting, child safety seat inspection, a citizens watch program, premise surveys and police clearance letters.
