Hoover Public Library, a nonprofit organization, provides electronic and physical access to wide range of information resources including books, journals, newspapers, government documents, microforms, maps, DVDs and CDs. The library s collections includes more than 6,50,000 books and over 2,500 periodical subscriptions. It provides electronic access to more than 30,000 periodicals, atlases and maps. It provides curriculum materials to students in grades kindergarten through 12. Its multimedia center provides a range of nonprint media material that includes videocassettes, DVDs, records, slides, audio cassettes, laser discs and software. The library also provides various programs in adult literacy, tax assistance and drama and jazz concerts for various age groups. Hoover Public Library is located in Birmingham, Ala.
