The shave ice is so fine that the syrup almost immediately melts it so you have to eat it fast. Waiola's also has the most flavors and the most toppings of any shave ice place. Also look for their unique special creations including the azuki bowl and shave ice with Hersey syrup and evaporated milk. The Li Hing Mui and Lychee flavors are especially good. The original location on Waiola is the sentimental favorite, but the brand new location on Kapahulu across from the golf course is much easier to find. Either way, you can't go wrong.
