The Public Works Division plans, coordinates, organizes, directs and controls a variety of engineering and architectural services for the state of Hawaii. It offers a variety of services, including land acquisition, planning, designing, inspecting and managing construction projects and facilitating quality control. The other services of the department include contracting, construction management, equipping facilities and other improvements for various state agencies. The division s leasing branch locates, negotiates and leases official spaces in nonstate buildings for state agencies. It also offers financial services, such as wealth management in compliance with federal, state and local laws. The department provides 24-hour health, security and emergency services to the residents. It is a part of the state of Hawaii and is located in Honolulu.
