General Info

Dr. Paul Morton was born and raised in Hawai'i. He grew up on the Big Island and is a Kea'au High School graduate. He earned his Bachelor's of Science, double-majoring in Chemistry and Biomedical Sciences from Antioch College in Yellow Springs, Ohio. Dr. Morton returned to Hawaii to obtain his medical degree from University of Hawaii John A. Burns School of Medicine. He pursued his Orthopaedic surgery residency at St. Luke's University and Health Network in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania. He obtained his fellowship training in Adult Reconstruction at the University of Chicago. He pursued additional training through an AO Trauma fellowship at Charit Universittsmedizin Berlin in Germany. He has had several publications and his research has been presented in multiple national meetings including the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, American Association of Hip and Knee Surgeons, and the Orthopaedic Trauma Association. Dr. Morton's focus is on joint reconstruction, joint preservation and salvage procedures. He has an interest in minimally invasive approaches, including the Direct Anterior approach. He is well-versed in modern adult reconstruction techniques including partial knee replacements and robotic assisted replacements. He has an an extensive training in complex revisions of failed joint replacements, including megaprosthesis, infections, arthrofibrosis and periprosthetic fractures. His philosophy is that everyone deserves a patient-centered and individualized approach with both nonoperative and operative treatments available. He will provide you with the best that modern orthoapedics provides with rapid-recovery techniques, advanced analgesia, and cosmetic wound closure. Whether your problem stems from a sports injury or a complex trauma, his experience with challenging cases provides him with the tool kit to provide the best possible care.
