Established in 1923, Maluhia is a 150-plus-bed long-term nursing care facility that provides a range of community-based services. It offers recreational therapy and geriatric physician services. The facility operates the Maluhia Adult Day Health Center, which provides health observation and monitoring services for senior citizens. Maluhia offers pharmacy medication delivery and physical and occupational therapy services. It also provides immunization and patient and caregiver educational programs. The facility additionally offers medical services for dementia, depression, high blood pressure, diabetes, strokes and heart diseases. Maluhia participates in Medicaid and Medicare insurance programs. It maintains a staff of more than 200 employees. The facility is certified by the Hawaii State Department of Health. Maluhia is a part of Hawaii Health Systems Corporation, which operates several health care facilities in Hawaii.
