  On March 29, 2022, Eric spoke as part of a distinguished panel of estate planners, to discuss Hawaii’s newly enacted Uniform Trust Code, contained in Hawaii Revised Statutes § 554D.  Below is the recording of the livestream presentation, sponsored by the Probate & Estate Planning Section of the Hawaii State Bar Association.

  He has served as an adjunct professor at his alma mater, the William S. Richardson School of Law since 2003, where he teaches estate planning.  Eric is a past Chair of the Probate and Estate Planning Section (2005) and past Chair of the Elder Law Section (2003) of the Hawaii State Bar Association.  He is a court-appointed member of the Committee on the Uniform Probate Code and Probate Court Practices, and has received a Martindale-Hubbell “AV” rating from his peers.  In April 2007, after more than 15 years of practice, he was elected as a Fellow to the prestigious American College of Trust and Estate Counsel, an organization of more than 2,700 estate planning attorneys nationwide who have demonstrated superior abilities in the field of trusts and estates and have made substantial contributions to these areas through lecturing, writing, teaching, and bar-related activities.  Eric has perennially been selected for inclusion to Super Lawyers, the Best Lawyers in America, and Honolulu Magazine’s Best Lawyers in Hawai’i, in the fields of estate planning and trust litigation.
