The Department of Information Technology, governed by the City and County of Honolulu, provides information technology services to the mayor s office and city agencies. It also offers computer services to other governmental and nongovernmental agencies. The department manages a central data processing operations center and city's computer network. The Department of Information Technology s specializes in electronic forms processing, mainframe system and software upgrades, telecommunications and wide area networking, and client and server application development. It operates technical support and administration and applications divisions. The department analyzes business functions performed by city divisions and makes recommendations for service improvements through the development and implementation of software applications.
