General Info

The New Year has finally arrived and it will be full of surprises, I?m sure. Along with the surprises, we will be reminded of mistakes and regrets. But let us not be forgetful; the last year had some unforgettable successes and positive movement. As I thought of addressing the New Year, I read this quote by author Alan Cohen: ?It takes a lot of courage to release the familiar and seemingly secure, to embrace the new. But there is no real security in what is no longer meaningful. There is more security in the adventurous and exciting, for in movement there is life, and in change there is power.? Mr. Cohen?s quote pulled my imaginative trigger as I considered his words. ?It takes a lot of courage to release the familiar and seemingly secure to embrace the new. But there is no real security in what is no longer meaningful.? We need to be reminded that last year is gone forever. It has slipped into the graveyard of history. It is only meaningful as we hold close those lessons learned. He spoke of movement as in terms of revelation. ?There is no real security in the adventurous and exciting, for in movement there is life.? I understand him to be saying, where there is no life, there is no movement. Things that move in life have a power base. There needs to be a source to propel movement. Paul, the apostle, stated it this way in the 2 Corinthians, 3:18 And we, who with unveiled faces all reflect the Lords? glory, are being transformed into his likeness with ever-increasing glory, which comes from the Lord, who is the Spirit. That sounds like movement to me. It sounds like ever-increasing change. To always be about becoming more like Him. Sunday worship 11:00 AM. Wednesday Bible Study 6:30-7:30pm Bobby F.
