I just wanted to say a big THANK YOU for a wonderful year. My daughter had an amazing year across the board and DAC was a HUGE part. You are such a gifted teacher and my daughter responds so well in class and it carries over to our home. Not only has she learned a lot this year but I feel like I have been able to let her be more independent and she was more than ready for me to back off a bit. Both of us loved the concerts this year. The student concert was truly amazing. I felt like I was watching the girls work out some serious stuff through their dance and it was very moving. Next year I will have to come equipped with more tissues. Michelle McKenna 2012 Ainsley and I look forward to the summer and fall programs.

We cannot thank the DAC enough for the skills they've taught our daughter, the confidence they've given her, the strength they've helped her find, and for an experience that has taught her to love the art form she expresses so beautifully now. She knows what it means to be part of something special while still shining on her own. The dance training is at a professional level, one that could easily set her on a path towards a career in dance, should she choose it. If she doesn't, then her training has left a wonderful mark on her. She moves naturally with grace and confidence, not just because her muscles are beautifully trained, but because she has developed the strength of character and the necessary resiliency to succeed in any career or life path she'll explore. We lead our kids to sports to help shape them and prepare them for being a part of the world. We look for opportunities for them to challenge and grow themselves. This is that place for dance. Best move we ever made.

An amazing school if you want to go professional. A bit too intense for my taste.

Dance Training Shining ThroughYesterday, my daughter had her annual physical. Her doctor was very happy to hear about all of her dance training and the core strength that she is building. Also the intangibles that come with the responsibilities of such a busy schedule. He told her that he wanted to give her a goal to focus on, and that is to increase the amount of calcium in her daily diet to assure healthy bones for all this dancing. On the way home she said, " Mom I am really happy the doctor gave me something to work on, otherwises you assume that you are doing everything right, and that tends to make you lazy!" I had the biggest grin on my face thinking....there is that dance training shining through again!!!!

Every year, I know you and your incredibly gifted and visionary staff strive to surpass the previous year, and you always dobut this year was so incredibly spectacular. The choreography for all the levels was beyond wonderful. The Pre-Beginners shone just as brightly (they showed their learned skills as they danced improvisation, then managed to come back to moments of structurebeyond charming!!!) as our beautiful Advanced Intermediates did, on pointe and with breath-taking grace. And, one of the strongest pieces and, arguably, the most emotional one, was that created by your Junior Choreographer, Cayla Noreau. From music selection right on down to each lyrical moment the dancers were moving on stage, this piece made us slowly slacken our jaws and fight back tears. I dont think Ill ever lose the picture of Jacob Clerico, standing alone on stage with the final moments of music, saluting our flag. Cayla has a great talent, and it is a testament to how well you know your student
Not a great experience with this school. Rumor mill was terrible between the instructors with even the owner participating. Possibly having growing pains, but unorganized schedules and programs made it confusing. My daughter was told to attend as many classes as she wanted each week but in reality when she did the instructors did not welcome her. This was justifying the high cost but in the end was not a benefit.

Schedule changes were often and unannounced and my child was penalized because she could not always accommodate the revised schedule. Teachers said it taught students flexibility and commitment but my daughter's schedule included other academic and cultural experiences (art classes, girl scouts, etc.) that she had commitments to. The school had no desire to listen to my feedback and myself and other parents were left with our frustration. We did not enroll again and would not recommend. My daughter's dancing is important to her so we moved to a school who had a goal of enriching my daughter's dance rather than overwhelming her and making her choose dance over all else.

My daughter went to the school and found the atmosphere frustrating. She often times was confused by the direction given as one teacher would say one thing and the director would give a different set of instructions. My daughter became so frustrated that she wanted to quit even though she loves dancing. The school needs a leader that supports the teachers rather than overruling them. And too much conflict is in the open in front of the students. Overall I would not recommend the school becuase of the lasting impression this negative attitude had on my daughter.

This is a true preprofessional school with a serious attitude towards all forms of dance. Going to dac was the best decision I've ever made, and my dancing has improved so much! The unlimited classes is a definite bonus, and I heartily disagree with whoever posted the only negative comment. DAC is nothing but professional.
The Dancing Arts Center is an invaluable part of the local community and international dance world. DAC steers clear of commercial recitals. We were given appropriate performance opportunities in professional concerts. As a student, it has always been clear that the focus of DAC is on the us as growing people. Even the teachers go above and beyond to develop relationships with our parents. DAC gave me phenomenal dance training and also a sound awareness of myself, which continues to benefit me in all areas of my life, not just in dance. The administration is personally invested in each and every one of their students, and its evident in each and every class. DAC is like a family, and its so much fun!!!
Our family has been at DAC for 6.5 years and found it to be an exceptional dance training school. Dance instructors are well trained, highly professional and supportive. Dancers get individual attention, excellent technique training and unique performance opportunities including; the Nutcracker, various classical ballets and a Student Dance Concert where students learn choreography, lighting, sound and staging a full in-studio performance. Dancers at DAC learn discipline and build character while gaining technique skills that could be carried over into a career in dance, if the student chooses. I highly recommend this dance school.
I like the fact that my children can take as many classes as they want at or below their level for no additional cost above basic tuition, which by the way, is discounted from the starting hourly rate as students move up in level. I find no hidden costs. Everything I pay for, I know in advance and have a choice. There are no costume expenses other than my children's personal attire (undergarments and shoes). All costumes are made in the school's wardrobe department for each performer. While performing opportunities are numerous and available for all students in different capacities, the parents of those that choose to audition specifically for the student company are asked to volunteer only 6 hours per performance season as a way to get involved with the children. I like to volunteer to usher, then I help out and see the performance (for free). Other than my 6 hours to usher, I don't pay a thing for the numerous rehearsal hours that my children love.
Parents are responsible for paying the high fees for their children and are charged more if they do not volunteer! All this for less than adequate leadership and teachers. And watch out for the hidden fees as the owner tends to slip in fees and change the conditions as the year progresses. Other than the few favorites that the teachers have, the students are treated with little respect (yet the owner claims this is to build character!)
