Hollister Middle School provides learning experiences for more than 200 students in grades five and six. It offers educational classes in reading, language arts, math, science and social studies. The school also supports various activities, including art, music, band, choir and physical education. It organizes basketball and volleyball activities. In partnership with the Taney County Sheriff s Department, Hollister Middle School features the Drug Abuse Resistance Education (D.A.R.E.) program. It also provides an accelerated reader program that is used to monitor and guide reading practices and helps students in improving reading abilities. The school serves a selection of lunch items. Hollister Middle School is governed by the Hollister R-V School District, which has been operational or more than 20 years. The Hollister R-V School District serves more than 1,200 students in elementary, middle and high schools.
