The Holland Police Department is one of the leading law enforcement agencies in Michigan. It consists of more than 60 sworn officers and over 15 civilian support staff. The department maintains various divisions, including patrol unit, special enforcement team, records bureau, reserve police officer unit, services division, victim services unit, honor guard, crisis negotiation team, traffic unit and detective bureau. The Holland Police Department also has team policing area coordinators and code enforcement and animal control divisions. It operates the Holland Citizens Police Academy, which provides information and education about departmental structure and organization, domestic violence law, narcotics enforcement, judicial system, firearms use and training, and city ordinances and state laws.
