Holden Elementary School is a public institution that offers educational and extracurricular programs to students in grades kindergarten through two. More than 250 students are enrolled in the school that offers subjects, such as communication arts, math, science, health and social studies. Homeroom teachers provide daily instruction within the classroom setting in these subject areas. The curriculum in each subject is based on the state grade level expectations. The students are regularly assessed to determine progress on the objectives. The school also offers teach and assist progress reading to students achieving slightly below grade level in reading. They receive daily one-on-one or two-to-one reading instruction with a trained reading aide for a period of ten weeks. The school is affiliated with the Holden R-III School District and is located in Holden, Mo.
