General Info
Dr. Frank Verdone is a Long Island native having grown up in Farmingville, NY. Dr. Verdone studied biology at SUNY at Stonybrook, and graduated with a BS in Biology in1982. From there, he studied optometry and graduated from SUNY State College of Optometry with a Doctor of Optometry in 1986. Dr. Verdone decided to become an optometrist because as a child he always wore glasses and then contacts when he got older. His optometrist was a second cousin who guided Dr. Verdone along this career path. Dr. Verdone’s office has won many “Doctor of the Year” Awards from LensCrafters based on customer satisfaction surveys. Dr. Verdone is a member of the Suffolk County Optometric Association, the New York State Optometric Association (NYSOA) as well as the American Optometric Association (AOA). Dr. Verdone has been practicing optometry for 27 years and has been in his present location for 23 years. The practice specializes in fitting all contact lenses from simple fittings to more complicated fitting such as contacts lenses for astigmatism, bifocal contact lenses, rigid contact lenses, as well as contact lenses for certain eye conditions such as keratoconus. In his career, Dr. Verdone has treated hundreds if not thousands of patients. One story stays with him of a young girl who was brought to his practice through the Gift of Sight Program early in his career. The patient had a very strong nearsighted prescription. When Dr. Verdone put the glasses on the patient, her face just lit up with a great big smile. She jumped off her chair and gave Dr. Verdone a great big hug. It was at this moment that Dr. Verdone understood the impact he could make in people’s lives.

I have gone to Dr. Verdone for several years. He is very thorough and picked up something in my husband's eyes that he didn't even know he had an issue on. He is an awesome, exceptional eye doctor. Just don't use Lenscrafters for the glasses because they play with the ins and I am totally covered at Maz optical but at Lenscrafter's have to pay $300.+. Insurance is insurance so why the discrepancy? It's all a game but Dr. Verdone is definitely the go to doctor for your eyes!
