Established in 1906, the Hillside Police Department works to provide law enforcement services and ensure the safety and security of citizens. It is comprised of more than 30 full- and part-time sworn and nonsworn officers. The department operates administration, patrol, investigation, juvenile and records units. The Hillside Police Department provides home security and vacation check and fingerprint identification programs. Its services include the apprehension of offenders, recovery of property, regulation of noncriminal conduct, and crime prevention and repression. The department also enforces parking and traffic regulations. The Hillside Police Department has a communication unit that responds to various emergency and nonemergency calls. It is located in Hillside, Ill.
