Founded in 1955, St. John s Academy, earlier known as St. John the Baptist Parish School, is a Catholic school that offers lunch and after-school programs. The academy has a parent-teacher guild that encourages parents participation in school meetings and activities. It has more than 60 desktop computers with high-speed Internet access. St. John's Academy also offers enrichment classes that feature various activities, such as sign language, dance, sports, quilting, sewing, woodworking, arts and crafts and cooking. The academy operates speech, glee and drama clubs. It additionally provides opportunities to participate in sports activities, including basketball, bowling, cheerleading, and track and field. St. John's Academy is located in Hillsdale, N.J.
