we stayed at quail's crossing the week of the fourth of july. the kids loved aces the horse and swimming in the pool. the cabins were very clean and just the right size for our family of four. this is a good place to stay since it is centrally located to every town you wish to visit. we were minutes from custer, rapid city, hot springs, keystone and hill city. the rates were not bad either. george the owner was very nice and helpfull.

This review will only let me type 1000 words. My story is much longer than that. You can find my review at tripadvisor My quick review is: George is an unstable man. If/when you make him mad he will swear at you and chase you off his property if you have stayed there. It is unlikely that he will give you the cleaning deposit back. He is rude and overbearing. DO NOT STAY HERE.

We vacationed to South Dakota with another family and we stayed at Quails Crossing in Hill City, SD. Each family rented their own cabin. The cabins were the least expensive place that we could find that included kitchenettes. The cabins were as we expected from looking at the website. The cabins are a little rustic, HOWEVER they are clean, have a nice TV, and all the extras that are provided were the best. The kids had so much fun playing in the playground, feeding the horse, walking on the trails, and eating smores at the firepit. George, the owner, is also extremely nice and always available to help. I almost forgot to mention that this place is so convenient to everything in the Black Hills. What a find! We would recommend this place to anyone on a budget and with active kids.
