DANGER!! THIS IS NOT A SAFE PLACE TO SWIM!!! One of my best friends' sons drowned there on 5/22/14. He was 24 years old, an excellent swimmer, physically fit and grew up swimming in the lakes and rivers. Another person drowned there 3 days later!! This place is a public danger and should be SHUT DOWN!!! There is a dam upstream that lets its water flow and creates a killer underflow because it bottle necks at Banana Bend! This is a river, not a beach!! This has to stop before more people lose their life!! My friend having to bury her son this weekend will be the hardest day of her life and shouldn't have happened!!
