Summit View Elementary is a learning center that serves more than 700 students in kindergarten through grade six. The school is governed by the Douglas County School District, which operates various elementary, middle and high schools. The school provides a variety of general academic and gifted and special education programs. Its staff includes psychologists, social workers, library aides, and speech and occupational therapists. Summit View Elementary s range of extracurricular activities includes art, music and physical education. The school operates a student council, band and orchestra. It publishes a monthly newsletter and organizes several musical concerts and social events. The school also provides meals and transportation. In addition, Summit View Elementary operates a parent-teacher-student association and school advisory council.
