High Point Fire Department offers a range of emergency rescue and fire prevention services. The department has conducted nearly 4,000 fire inspections. It provides disaster preparedness planning, research and development solutions. The department offers budgeting, performance measurement, purchasing, inventory control, geographic information systems mapping and data maintenance services. It also specializes in the coordination of radio communication. The High Point Fire Department's technical services division provides fleet and building maintenance solutions. It maintains a fleet of more than 20 emergency response and over 30 support vehicles. High Point Fire Department operates a training division that develops and delivers several programs in the areas of engine and ladder company operations and fire fighter safety and survival skills. In addition, it conducts sprinkler, fire alarm and pump tests, as well as issues certificates of compliance.
