- Dental ExaminationMaintaining oral health includes good home care and regular visits to our office for preventive care, which includes oral examinations and cleanings. Comprehensive examinations of the mouth, teeth, surrounding gum tissues, and supporting bone structures help to identify any areas of concern and help with the early detection and treatment of problematic conditions.
- X-raysA routine dental visit includes a comprehensive oral examination of your teeth and mouth. This includes an oral cancer screening to identify any abnormalities. It may also include dental X-rays for detection of cavities or other oral health concerns. Learn more about Dental Exams
- Oral Cancer ScreeningOral cancer affects thousands of Americans yearly. We use the latest technology to detect changes in oral tissue consistencies and/or lesions. A specialized light is shined into the mouth to detect unhealthy tissue. Healthy tissue looks lighter under the light while spots of bad tissue appear dark. With early detection, cancer may be caught before it has time to spread, potentially saving lives.
- Teeth CleaningPrevent cavities. Professional teeth cleanings remove plaque that causes cavities. Even if you brush your teeth twice a day, plaque can still form in places that are hard to reach and see.
- Fluoride TreatmentFluoride is a naturally occurring mineral that hardens enamel. Fluoride treatments may be applied to make your teeth more resistant to decay.
- Dental SealantsDental sealants may be applied to teeth that are at a high risk of cavities, such as those with deep pits or grooves. A thin layer of composite material is used to create a more even surface that is easier to keep clean.
- FillingsAnother important reason composite fillings have replaced amalgam fillings is that they do not use mercury, which was present in metal fillings. Many patients are choosing to have their older amalgam fillings replaced with tooth-colored fillings for this reason.
- Resin CompositeMade using composite resin, these may be made in the dental office or in a dental lab and are less expensive than porcelain veneers. They can alter the appearance of tooth color, size, or shape and can be an effective solution for less extensive cosmetic improvements. They are fully customized as are the porcelain veneers, but the composite material is somewhat susceptible to staining and does not last as long as porcelain.
- VeneersVeneers cover the front of the tooth surface and slightly wrap around the sides and biting edge of the tooth. In most cases, each tooth receiving a veneer will be carefully prepped prior to the veneer fabrication and placement. This preparation involves removing a thin (usually less than one millimeter) layer of enamel from the natural tooth in the areas that will be covered by the veneer. This allows the veneer to fit seamlessly with the contours of the natural tooth. The veneers are attached using a thin but strong bonding material. The material hardens when cured by a specialized light.
- CrownsWhen a tooth is broken or has significant decay, the ideal solution is to restore it using a filling, crown, or other procedure. If restoration is not possible or advisable due to the condition of the tooth, an extraction may be recommended to prevent infection and achieve or maintain oral health.
- BridgesDental Bridges. A dental bridge can replace one or two teeth in a row, using the neighboring teeth for support.
- Dental BondingMatrix bonding is an advanced method of cosmetic bonding that reshapes teeth that are chipped, cracked, or otherwise damaged. Learn more about Cosmetic Bonding
- Restorative DentistryEven with excellent care, however, teeth and gums can be susceptible to disease, infection, cavities, cracks, or other forms of damage. Restorative dentistry helps preserve natural teeth and helps maintain oral and overall health even when the health of one or more teeth or the surrounding areas is compromised. The goal of restorative dentistry is to restore the function and integrity of the tooth structure, function, and health while maintaining a natural appearance.
- Root Canal TreatmentThis device is used to obtain the proper length of the root canal, from which the doctor can determine the position of the file relative to the apex of the root. This can help ensure that the canal is completely free of debris, reducing potential future complications.
- Deep CleaningYour dentist may recommend scaling and root planing if plaque has formed under the gums or if there are signs of gum disease. It is considered a deep cleaning of teeth and may be referred to as periodontal maintenance when it is performed on a regular schedule.
- DenturesEven if you have not lost all the teeth within an arch, you can still enjoy the benefits of dentures while filling in spaces from missing teeth in your mouth. Partial dentures are a great option for patients who have suffered from significant tooth loss.
- Dental ImplantsThe best solution to replace missing teeth, dental implants can simulate the look, feel, and function of natural teeth. Implants can help preserve the health of neighboring teeth, maintain bone structure, contribute to an improved ability to chew, and provide patients with the confidence to smile.
- Oral Surgery
- Jaw SurgeryThere are some surgical options that can be performed to reduce the throat tissues and provide more support so that they don’t collapse when you sleep. For some patients orthodontic treatment and/or jaw surgery can permanently cure sleep apnea.
- Osseous SurgeryOsseous Surgery/Pocket Depth Reduction. Osseous Surgery, also known as pocket depth reduction, is a procedure used to reshape the jaw bone where there is damage from gum disease. Chronic gum disease can cause pockets to develop between the gums and teeth. Osseous surgery eliminates these pockets to reduce the risk of recurring gum disease.
- Tooth Extractions
- Bone GraftingBone Grafting. Bone grafting is a procedure used to restore lost bone tissue in the jaw. A bone fragment is placed under the gums on top of the existing bone to thicken it and encourage regeneration of bone tissue.
- OrthodonticsTeeth may need to be extracted for a variety of reasons from severe decay or damage to orthodontics. Learn more about Extractions
- Teeth WhiteningIn-Office Bleaching usually requires only one office visit. A protective gel or a rubber shield is placed over the gums to protect the soft tissue. A bleaching agent containing carbamide peroxide is applied to the teeth, and a specialized light is then used to enhance the action of the whitening agent. This is the fastest way to achieve results.
