General Info
Welcome to Cortona Academy, the ultimate in private education on the East Coast. Whether your child is Gifted, Learning Disabled, Dyslexic or has challenges, such as ADHD, we provide PROVEN Study/Organizational skills to conquer these issues. Because of these strategies (HTS-3), taught in every class, such issues are solved or mitigated. Along with our superior teachers and custom-designed programs, every student at Cortona Academy has an equal chance for the BEST colleges in America. Founded in 1992, Cortona remains the only program of its kind providing students in grades 7 - 12 group classes (average 4:1 student to teacher class sizes) as well as optional one-on-one's with Cortona Academy professors. Thus, Cortona students may even do two years in one, make-up for poor GPA's or re-mediate by being given the opportunity to be taught by our teachers who are also professional scientists, engineers, writers, and computer scientists, all within a structured, state-of-the-art learning environment. Cortona's no-fail, potential-based philosophy is geared to each educational need, interest, and ability. For the past 5 years, no student, despite being labeled as Gifted or Learning Disabled, has graduated from Cortona Academy with less than $40,000 to $110,000 in merit-based college scholarships. Parents pay us, but for many of them, their tuition money has been returned to them through these merit-based college scholarships! Since motivation precedes education, our hi-tech computer, invention and design center provides students the freedom to follow their passions. Inspirational field trips to cultural, scientific, and technological venues in the DC Area help students stay engaged as well as achieve internships. Don't wait until college for your child to become inspired. Additionally, for the past 20 years, we have sponsored our students to work with Congress on award programs, therefore encouraging that they give back to society, while mentoring with some of the best professionals in the DC Area. Give your child a second chance at a brilliant future. Go to Great Schools.com and read what other parents and students say about Cortona Academy OR come to our Information Session held every Tuesday from 11 a.m. to 12:30. p.m. We CAN help your child while you save your retirement money in the process.
