Southern Section Lifeguard is part of the Los Angeles Coastal Monitoring Network. It installs devices along the more than 70-mile Los Angeles coastline, and connects it to the fire department s wide area network allowing operational captains to assess staffing needs at secluded beaches from anywhere on the network through the Web browser. Located in Hermosa Beach, Calif., the department offers a variety of facilities, including bike path, bus stop, fishing, lifeguard, rental equipment, restaurants, showers, street parking, volleyball, and pier. It also offers facilities for disabled, parking lot, playground, restrooms, surfing and swimming. It provides wheelchair access to pier, strand paved walkway, and restrooms.
