  "I have been coming here for 13 years. My husband and I retired and moved here from New York and New Jersey.   Because our rehabilitation center is located near our medical offices, the communication with physicians, surgeons and other medical staff is maximized. Medical tests such as x-rays and MRI’s can be reviewed easily and quickly. Also, if a problem develops or if a therapy routine needs changed, the patient can have peace of mind knowing a physician or other member of the medical staff can be easily contacted to help resolve the issue.

  We are an orthopedic surgery practice based in Hermitage, PA. Specialty Orthopaedics was founded in 1994 by Dr. Robert Piston, a Board Certified orthopedic surgeon. A surgeon for over 25 years, Dr. Piston completed fellowships in both hip and knee replacement surgery and hand/upper extremity microsurgery.

  "I had a total hip replacement on my left side. I learned that my hip problem actually originated with issues involving my right knee. Dr. Piston replaced my hip and I had to have shots in my knee. Dr. Piston was very precise and extremely thorough. He explained everything very well. He told me exactly what to expect and answered all my questions. My surgery was four months ago and I would say I am 99% recovered. The medical and Rehab staffs were very professional, friendly and courteous."

  Our rehabilitation staff consists of licensed physical therapists, occupational therapists, physical therapy assistants and additional support staff. The occupational therapy group provides a special emphasis on hand and wrist therapies and treating cervical and upper extremity injuries. Referrals to Specialty Orthopaedics rehabilitation center can be made by our physicians or the patient's personal physician.
