Established in 1907, the Hermiston Police Department is a full-service law enforcement agency that works to protect lives and property, suppress criminal activities, enforce laws and ordinances, and apprehend and prosecute offenders. It operates a communication and dispatch center that coordinates responses to police, fire, and medical emergency and nonemergency calls for service. The department hosts the fingerprint identification program and provides copies of police reports. The Hermiston Police Department conducts background checks and home security surveys. It also addresses gang and drug involvement issues, as well as supports neighborhood and business watch programs. The Hermiston Police Department is located in Hermiston, Ore.
