Its capabilities include residue analysis, exposure studies, abiotic degradation and water system quality and total petroleum hydrocarbon content testing. PTRL West features high-performance liquid chromatography, mass spectrometry, gas chromatography, nuclear magnetic resonance, infrared spectroscopy, liquid scintillation counters and total organic carbon analysis. Its work is in compliance with good laboratory practices and follows the United States Environmental Protection Agency and Food and Drug Administration guidelines. The California Department of Health Services licensed PTRL West to perform radiotracer work. The company is based in Hercules, Calif.
