General Info
Pride & Joy was built with great focus and dedication to children and families, and understands how important it is for parents to be able to go to work, knowing that their children are safe, loved and getting the most out of their day. We are proud to do what we love best every day and we welcome you to be part of our center and family! Today, most families are faced with the need to have two incomes to support their families. In order for parents to be able to do this they need to know that their children are being cared for in a warm, loving environment, where they can grow and thrive. The focus of the program then, as it is now, was to provide families with quality care for their child that is as comfortable and caring as it would be in their own home. With this in mind, Pride & Joy set out to create a program, which combines family comfort, along with the many benefits of an early-childhood educational program. Pride & Joy was founded as a family-home daycare licensed for five children, in 1998 by Gina Harrington, a Rush Henrietta graduate who had already had an eight- year career, doing what she loved, in child care. After the birth of her daughter, Gina decided that she wanted to take everything she had learned working in professional daycare environments and combine it with all of the comforts of a supportive, home environment. This combination of family style and professional programming became instantly popular with families from Henrietta and in neighboring towns, creating an instant waiting list. In September 2008 Pride & Joy moved to our new home, located in West Henrietta, and expanded our popular program, to care for 106 children, plus Universal Pre-K. Our new facility boasts an indoor large motor room with a rock-climbing wall, custom designed classrooms outfitted with child size fixtures, a security entry system and family reception area complete with an a.m. coffee spot. Pride & Joy was fully enrolled 9 months before opening.
