Pam Turner received her B.F.A. in dance from the North Carolina School of the Arts and then continued her studies in NY for several years. She has taught for Richmond Ballet, Tidewater Ballet, VCU, and the Henrico Center for the Arts as well as serving as an Artist-in-Residence for schools in Virginia and North Carolina. She has choreographed for SPARC, King's Dominion, Carowinds, the University of Richmond, the New Virginians at Virginia Tech, a national tour for Georgia-Pacific and various commercials and pageants. She was the recipient of the 2007 Theresa Pollack Prize for Dance for her contribution of dance in the Richmond Community.

I have been taking dance classes and performing for 42 of my 45 years. In college I had the opportunity to work with a number of professional instructors, choreographers, and dancers, so when I moved to Richmond I was looking for that same quality of dance. I found it at Richmond Dance Center. That was 20 years ago. I have continued to learn and grow as a dancer thanks to the knowledgeable and professional teachers at RDC. While I have no children of my own, I have seen so many little ones grow up while taking class at the studio. I truly believe Miss Pam and her amazing team of teachers contribute to students' successes, both in and outside the dance studio.
At Richmond Dance Center all of the teachers have a college degree in dance and keep up with the latest trends by attending teacher workshops and master classes through out the country as well as attending numerous professional dance concerts. They also teach for places such as VCU, University of Richmond, Henrico Center for the Arts, The School of the Performing Arts, and MCV Child Care Center. While it is not possible to please everyone 100% of the time, Richmond Dance Center has shared the joy of dance with almost 10,000 satisfied students and parents for the 30 years that it has been in operation with many of the students staying for over 16 years.

There are far better dance studios in the Richmond area. This place is run down and not with the times - the owner treats the little ones like she is herding cattle.
