NORAC was founded by Dr. Chester McCloskey, who developed a sophisticated ketone peroxide manufacturing process that remains the most efficient and technically advanced in the industry. NORAC is the leading supplier of ketone peroxides in North America. In 1966, the company entered another specialty chemical market, metallic stearates. NORAC s ketone peroxide products are used by fabricators and casters of unsaturated polyester and vinyl ester resins, and its line of metallic stearates consists of aluminum stearate, calcium stearate, potassium stearate, zinc stearate and lithium stearate. NORAC produces these products at its manufacturing facility in Helena, Arkansas. Norac Pharma, NORAC s Azusa, Calif., subsidiary, focuses on the synthesis and production of new and novel small molecules for prescription drugs. NORAC also has an office in Stockholm, Sweden.
