The tree spade is designed to attach to a variety of equipment depending on terrain and distance between transplant sites. The company offers Truck Mounted Transplanters, Loader Mount Transplanters, Trailer Mount Transplanters, Pod Trailers and Free Standing Pods. The first tree transplanter manufactured under the Big John brand was the Model 78. The Model 78 s name was derived from the diameter of its root ball and was capable of digging nine-inch caliper trees.
