Harvey Public Schools District 152 operates early childhood centers and elementary and middle schools throughout Illinois. It has an enrollment of more than 3,500 students in grades kindergarten through eight. The district offers a research-based curriculum that includes various subjects, such as mathematics, family consumer science, foreign language, language arts, media, reading, science, social studies, physical education and vocational agriculture. It provides special reading programs that include phonemic awareness, vocabulary development, reading fluency, phonics and comprehension. The extracurricular activities offered to students include the National Honor Society, performing arts, school newspaper, band, orchestra, music, choir, exploratory courses and community service. The district offers a variety of sports activities, including golf, football, track, basketball, volleyball, softball, baseball, wrestling, bowling, cross country and cheerleading. The district is located in Harvey, Ill.
