ConnPIRG, also known as Connecticut Public Interest Research Group, advocates for the public interest. It works to identity theft, fight political corruption, provide safe and affordable prescription drugs and strengthen voting rights. Its members include researchers, advocates, organizers and students. It also works to achieve campaign finance reform laws by enforcing campaign contribution limits, creating the systems of public financing and enacting lobby reforms. The group represents its members on issues related to public transportation, product safety, health care and democracy. It offers need-based financial assistance for underprivileged students. Connecticut Public Interest Research Group is located in West Hartford, Conn.
