Located in Mt. Clemens, Mich., Macomb County Sheriff Department is responsible for maintaining order, preserving public safety and improving the overall quality of life of the people residing in the county. The department consists of the law enforcement division, jail services, administrative department and community service department. The law enforcement department comprises the road patrol division, marine division, detective bureau, special units and reserve forces. Additionally, the county jail offers several programs, including community corrections , correctional medical services work release program , prisoner work details ,substance abuse treatment services, community service alternatives for non-violent offenders and prisoner pay to stay program. Macomb County Sheriff Department also offers community programs for elderly and the youth that offer self defense and safety classes.
