Founded in 1958, The Lower Paxton Township Police Department provides municipal police and law enforcement services to the community. It has a staff of more than 60 sworn police officers, lieutenants, sergeants, corporals, officers and over nine detectives. The department consists of three operational divisions, including patrol services, field services and staff services. The Lower Paxton Township Police Department operates a range of units, such as patrol, traffic safety, criminal investigations, support services and community policing units. Its patrol services division is responsible for conducting accident and criminal investigations. Its field services division has detectives who identify, collect and preserve evidence at a crime scene, process the evidence and manage control of the property and evidence room. The police department is located in Harrisburg, Pa.
