Martech is a manufacturer of medical devices, components, and extrusions exclusively for the original equipment manufacture health care market. Tubing, molded components, subassemblies and complete devices are fabricated using medical-grade silicones and other polymers that meet exacting specifications of the medical device industry. Founded in 1974, Martech began as a small extrusion and molding house, primarily supplying extruded coverings for automobile wire harnesses. It was while working in the family tubing business that David Markel went on to found and head the biomedical tubing division of the family business. He ultimately purchased the division and Martech was started. The company is a major injection molder of medical parts and a high technology catheter manufacturer. It supplies it's production to a spectrum of medical device manufacturers that are active in various disciplines, such as hemodialysis, interventional Radiology, urology, cardiac pacing, cardiac surgery, oncology, intensive care, and infusion therapy.
