Established in 1870 the Harlan ( IA ) Newspapers is a multi-media company publishing four newspapers and printing over 40 newspapers in Iowa and Nebraska with a staff of 25. They also operate a local ad agency and Cable TV channel - it's HarlanOnline.com has twice been named Iowa's top weekly newspaper website and has over 650 subscribers and 100, 000 monthly page views.The Harlan Newspapers is Iowa's fifth largest twice weekly newspaper and it's staff have garnered over 250 state and national awards. The Mores family has owned the newspaper since 1930 and it's three publishers, the late Leo Mores, Steve and Alan Mores, have been honored with Iowa's highest neewspaper award - the Master Editor Publisher award.THE HARLAN NEWSPAPERS has a history dating back to 1870, making it one of Harlan's oldest operating businesses.From the late 1800's to the early 1900's - Shelby County readers were served by a variety of combative and politically opposite newspapers.
