  Regular maintenance is also important, debris and trash should be cleared immediately after a windy day to prevent staining. Placing walk-off mats at the entrance ways to collect dirt from shoes is also helpful. Spring time, when the surface collects excessive dirt or pollen, use a water hose to hose off the surface. Regularly trim the grass and landscaping around the perimeter of the court to permit proper drainage from rainwater. Use weed killer to prevent and control weeds that invade the court edges and remove standing water after a rainfall using a rubber squeegee or foam roller.

  For pre-season maintenance, it's important to clear the court of any debris that has accumulated during the off-season. A broom or leaf blower can be used for this, but more stubborn stains may require power-washing. If using power-washing, take care to not use it improperly as it could harm the surface. When inspecting the court, look out for small cracks, divots, and any other irregularity. Check the net posts and the crank to make sure they're working correctly and that they're not under too much tension.
