I called All Area Appliance for a problem with a GE fridge. They sent someone out, who recognized the problem immediately - the coils being frozen - and recommended using a hair dryer to melt the ice. He only charged the $10 fee. I was impressed. I melted the ice and it worked.. for two weeks. So I called them again. Someone else came out and when I explained what I was told to do, he badmouthed the technician and company for being incompetent. Then I told him it someone from was his own company. He said he'd look into it, then charged $250 for a new motherboard installation. Two months later, the fridge is having the same problem AGAIN. But this time we'd received a class action suit in the mail where GE said they'd replace the fridge. All they needed was the receipts of service. I'd lost mine so I called All Area to get them to fax them to me. They refused! Perhaps they thought they could milk more money from me, but if they think I'm going back now, they're sadly mistaken.
