The Pleasant Valley Wine Company was born in 1860 in Hammondsport, New York with $10,000 from 13 local businessmen. Pleasant Valley was designated as U.S. Bonded Winery No. 1 in its State and Federal districts. Having survived Prohibition and several ownership changes, the winery in 1995 returned to local family control. We proudly make champagnes, table wines, and dessert wines under the Great Western, Widmer, Gold Seal, Pleasant Valley, and Brickstone Cellars labels. Our expansive facility includes 8 unique buildings on the National Register of Historic Places.
