Area Career Center offers various programs in business technology, child care, cosmetology, criminal justice, culinary arts, printing and interdisciplinary cooperative education. Its child care program offers several opportunities to work with infants, toddlers and preschoolers. The center s cosmetology program offers classes in shampooing, cutting, styling, straightening, perming, makeup and facial treatment. The center also offers an auto collision and repair program that offers classes in welding, cutting, priming, paint preparation, frame straightening, estimating and mechanical repairs. Located in Hammond, Ind., Area Career Center is a part of the School City of Hammond, which promotes technical courses, special education and extracurricular programs.
