Provided by YP.comHad new battery put into watch while I waited. asked if the fixing had included continuing the waterproofing that I needed. Was told, I put everything back as it was. Thought it was good to find this place and was thinking I would bring a clock to be fixed/ Within two weeks the watch does not work. I don't want to go back but don't know if the battery was old or the waterproofing not really put back.
Perfect time pieces. I would love to buy them all!
My boyfriend had gone back to Sears, where we bought his watch, to get the battery replaced after it died. It wasn't keeping accurate time, though, so I took it to Galasso's. The place is awesome; there are clocks everywhere so the whole place is ticking. I felt like I was in an old movie. Mr. Galasso is a classy old Italian man with a magnifying glass clipped to his glasses. He is very nice, and he tinkers with clockwork all day so he absolutely knows what he's doing. He showed me that the battery Sears had installed in my boyfriend's watch wasn't the right design, and it had been installed by hand, instead of with tweezers, so there was a giant fingerprint on it; finger oils can oxidize the metal in batteries, he told me. So he put in a new battery, the right one for the watch, and it was $8 for the battery AND installation! Days later the watch is still keeping perfect time. I'm incredibly happy with my experience and would recommend Galasso's to anyone!
Galasso's is the best watch and clock shop I have been to. Mr. Galasso is a true old-fashioned craftsman who will give you honest, practical advice and excellent service. I have bought 2 watches from him and he takes care of small things like new batteries and bands, often without even charging.
