General Info

I have spent nearly three decades evaluating and caring for patients with complex health challenges and have been fortunate to maintain relationships with many patients for more than 20 years. I believe in caring for the whole patient and try to gain an understanding of my patients’ background and social context. I practice evidence-based medicine in my approach to evaluating and treating my patients. I am board-certified in internal medicine and clinical informatics (a specialty that focuses on incorporating information technology into clinical practice) who joined the St. Luke’s University Health Network in 2018. I have practiced in a variety of clinical settings. I spent 7 years in the US Air Force, 3 years as a resident and 4 years as a faculty member of the internal medicine residency program. I was in private practice for 4 years during which I took care of my patients in the office as well as the hospital, ICU, rehabilitation and nursing home. Subsequently, I worked again as a teaching physician in an internal medicine program where I taught residents and medical students in both inpatient and outpatient settings. During this time period, I also led quality improvement for our faculty clinical practice and helped lead the implementation of the electronic medical record across a health system. I currently practice at St. Luke’s Hamburg Primary care where I focus on caring for my patients in an outpatient setting. Outside of work, I am a husband and father of 4 adult children. I enjoy cooking, winemaking, homebrewing, making mustard, sauerkraut, kimchi, and hot sauce from scratch. I also play classical guitar and like to run on local trails.
