My wife and I visit our daughter, her husband and two of our six grandchildren often. We've tried a dozen different hotels within 25 miles of HMB. Hands down, this is the best. We can visit the grandchildren and then return to being pampered. We stay about once every two months. On our second visit the check in staff greeted me by name from memory. By the third visit they were setting the thermostat to our desired level. (we have a fully disabled daughter who comes with us and she needs certain room temperatures) And speaking of that they are very "disabled friendly". They always offer help but are not overly intrusive about it. One time I had difficulty connecting to their free wifi and was a little embarrassed about it figuring I might be having iPad problems. But I called anyway, they reset their router within minutes and I was good to go.The beds are extraordinary. The views of the bay wonderful, the rooms spacious and the ambiance is great. As I read this it almost sounds as if this is one of those fake reviews written by a friend of the owner but I assure that is not the case.As you probably know, resort town prices are not cheap so if your looking for a room at less than $100 per night this is not your cup of tea, but the prices are competitive and even less than many Bay Area destination hotels. The best thing about this place is the staff. They are ALWAYS friendly, helpful, solicitous and available. It's gotten so when we visit our son his wife and two more of our grandchildren in the east bay (Castro Valley) we stay at the Oceano and make the 40 minute drive over. Treat yourself well. When visiting the bay area, stay at the Oceano.
